This three volume set of the Book of Coming Forth Into The Light (commonly known as the Egyptian "Book of the Dead") was the magnum opus outlining the great work of the entire Egyptian spiritual system, the process of developing ones soul to such an extent that it could survive death and live freely within the aetheric realms of the noncorporeal afterlife. This book and these original unblemished beliefs formed the basis for what later religions bastardized and twisted.
To the Egyptians this was THE most important endeavor in a person's life.
The copies we used for this set are original first printings of the oversized original Book of the Dead translation offered at the British Museum in the 1890's and they cost us over $5,000 to aquire. They are the first and best representation of the Papyrus of Ani ever offered.
Modern mass market versions cut corners to make them cheap, but in doing so they leave out the line by line translations, the original plates showing the papyri in its entirety as a cohesive story, and the extremely important discussions on the religious beliefs of the Egyptians. They are basically dumbed down versions of the original with much of the context lost.
